Graduation Information

Required Credits

Students can earn a maximum of 8 credits per year, with a total maximum of 32 credits for their high school career. Students wanting to earn more than 8 credits in a year must get prior permission from D1A. Students enrolling for the 2nd semester only can earn a maximum of 4 credits.

Students in 8th grade can earn 1-2 high school credits by completing high school-level work. Parents will need to submit both an elementary grade report and a separate high school grade report for those semesters.

When setting up a student’s ACT account, you must enter Daniel 1 Academy’s high school code of 430-444 in order for D1A to access their scores.

Honors, AP, & DE

*To graduate D1A with honors, a student must score at or above the benchmarks listed for the tests below.

ACT: English (18) | Math (22) | Reading (22) | Science (23)
CLT: Verbal Reasoning (25) | Grammar&Writing (25) |        
         Quantitative Reasoning (20)
*SAT: Contact our office if you are planning to take this exam.

*Honor students will be recognized during our graduation ceremony, on their transcripts, and on their diplomas. We must receive a copy of their scores to receive this distinction.
*Dual Enrollment courses may be designated on a student's transcript. We must receive documentation from the college or university showing the completed course and credit earned.
*Advanced Placement courses may be designated on a student's transcript with proof the student took the AP exam.
*Transcripts from D1A are unweighted.

Graduation Application

Once submitted, please allow at least one week for us to complete the transcript and diploma. Please note that graduation applications received after June 30th, or students completing graduation requirements after June 30th, may be subject to a late fee.

Graduation Announcement

At the ceremony, we will read the student's name and then say, "The son/daughter of ___ from ___." Please list below the names of the parents and their city of residence as you want it read at the ceremony.

Ceremony Information

Final grade reports should be submitted no later than one week before the ceremony.
Graduation starts at 7:00pm and usually lasts about 1 hour.
Practice for graduation begins at 4:00pm on the day of graduation and lasts about 1 hour. Students will be dismissed from practice and should return no later than 6:30pm to line up for the processional.
Men should wear a white, collared shirt and dark slacks with dark dress shoes. Ladies should wear a dress or a top with dark slacks. Everyone should wear nice shoes (no sneakers or flip flops).
For seniors who are not participating in the ceremony, their graduation application and fees should be turned in along with their final grade report.
